  1. Elks Lodge Most valuable Student Scholarship – Applications will be judged on scholarship, leadership, financial need. Five hundred awards will be given ranging from $1,000-$12,500 per year. To apply go to www.elks.org/scholars. Deadline: To be determined. Applications must be submitted to the Elks Lodge closest to the student’s permanent US residence.   2. National CO-OP Scholarship Program – 160 merit co-op scholarships will be awarded. Students must have a 3.5 GPA on 4.0 scale and be accepted into one of the following participating CO-OP Institutions: Clarkson University, Drexel, Johnson and Wales, Merrimack College, RIT, State University of New York Oswego, University of Cincinnati, University of Massachusetts Lowell, University of Toledo, and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Apply on-line at www.waceinc.org. Select Co-op scholarship program (on left). Application deadlines vary by institution.
  3. AES Engineering Scholarship – Awarded to students on the basis of character, as determined by a submitted essay. Scholarships are intended for future leaders across a wide spectrum of college majors. Students are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. Write a 500-1000 word essay to the following question: When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important in your journey? Submit essay to: scholarships@aesengineers.com $500 will be awarded to the winner(s) each year. Deadline: October 6, 2017
  4. The Christian Connector Scholarship Drawing – Go to www.ChristianConnector.com to automatically be entered in the $2,500 scholarship drawing. This website also offers an online search for Christian Colleges and other programs.
  5. Prudential Spirit of Community Award – Open to all students who have participated in community service over the past year. Award amount of $1,000 or more. Deadline: November 7, 2017. Goto: http://spirit.prudential.com
  6. Freedom Alliance Scholarship – Open to dependents of a U.S. soldier, airmen, guardsmen or marine who has become 100% disabled or deceased in the line of duty. Apply at www.FAScholarship.com
  7. Horatio Alger Scholarship Program – Students must have financial need and exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Awards range from $6,000-$25,000. Deadline: October 25, 2017. Apply at: scholars.horatioalger.org
  8. Raise Me Scholarship – Earn micro-scholarships from Montclair State University and over 180 other colleges (including Temple, University of Delaware, Rochester) for their academic and extra-curricular achievements. Raise.me is a social enterprise working in partnership with the White House and over 180 colleges to expand access to higher education. Apply at www.raise.me
  9. The DomCop Scholarship – Details for scholarship go to https://www.domcop.com/scholarship. Open to all students who are currently enrolled in an educational program. Write a 800-1500 word essay about a new business idea that you think would help to make the world a better place. Why do you believe that it would be successful? What would drive its growth? What challenges and barriers to entry would you face if you started it? How would you obtain market share from any current competition? In addition to your essay, send a video of yourself talking through your business idea and the inspiration behind it. The video should be 5-15 minutes in length and should act as a supplement to your essay. To submit your essay and video go to scholarship@domcop.com the deadline is November 1, 2017.
  10. Quest Bridge – Open to students who are in the top 5-10% of their class, scored 1310 on SAT or 28 on the ACT, come from households earning less than $65,000 per year (for a typical family of four), may be eligible for free or reduced-price lunch and may be part of the first generation in their family to attend college. Apply online at www.questbridge.org the deadline to complete the application is September 27, 2017.
  11. Rove Pest Control Scholarship – Student must be attending a college by the Fall 2018 semester and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Scholarship open to anyone seeking a higher education. Award is $500 and the deadline is December 31, 2017. Complete the application on line at http://www.rovepestcontrol.com/rove-pest-control-scholarship/.
