  1. Create A Greeting Card $10,000 Scholarship Contest. – Submit a photo, artwork or graphic for only the front of a greeting card of your own original work or creation. Additional rules and information can be found at gallerycollection.com/greeting-cards-scholarship.htm  Deadline for submission:  March 1, 2018.
  2. Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship Program – offers scholarships to students in financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. Go to rmhc.org for more information.  Select About us, then under What We Do select the Ronald McDonald House U.S. Scholarships link.  Deadline to apply is January 18, 2017.
  3. GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program – 20 college bound students who excel in leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship will receive $10,000 renewable scholarships – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Visit reaganfoundation.org/scholarships.  Deadline: January 4, 2018.
  4. Davis Scholarship – Open to all high school juniors and seniors as well as students currently registered in any post-secondary institution. Write an essay of less than 1,000 words on the following topic:  Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most.  Discuss why you believe that these traits are important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual.   Deadline: May 22, 2018.  Go to:  http://www.studentawardsearch.com/scholarships.htm for more information.
  5. me Scholarship – Raise.me is a social enterprise working in partnership with the White House and over 180 colleges. Raise.me enables student to earn grant aid throughout high school, starting as early as 9th grade, for doing all the things that best prepare them to succeed.  The amount students earn from a college on Raise.me represents a guaranteed minimum amount of aid they’ll receive if they apply and are admitted to that college.   Goto: www.raise.me for more information.
  6. American Legion Essay Contest – Prizes of $3,500, $3000 and $2500 will be awarded. This year’s essay topic is; What Does Being a Patriot Mean to Me? Explain your rationale. Deadline: January 19, 2018. See guidance for paperwork.
  7. American Legion Scholarships – Go to: http://pa-legion.com/programs/student-programs/ to find information on the following scholarships: Oratorical contest, Sebastianelli Drum Corps Scholarship, Joseph Gavenonis Scholarship, Robert Valimont Endowment, and Robert Trace Essay Contest.
  8. Elks Drug Awareness Video Contest – Video must be 2-5 minutes. Judging will be based on closeness to the theme, neatness, originality, positive message and quality of video.  Participants must use the theme “Just Say No.”  Deadline: January 6, 2017. See guidance for more information.
  9. Pennsylvania JCI Senate Scholarship – $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to current seniors who will be attending an accredited post-secondary institution. Based on leadership and other personal qualities.  Go to: usjcisenate.org.  Deadline: January 5, 2018.
  10. Pennsylvania Restaurant Assoc. Scholarship Program Awards range in value from $250 to $1,500. Student must be a high school senior who is graduating and has been accepted in a hospitality or culinary arts program at an accredited post-secondary institution. Three letters of recommendation one from an teacher/instructor, one from an employer; one from a personal reference, a transcript, a 200-word essay that describes who you are, your work experience and why you wish to pursue a career in the restaurant, food service or hospitality industry and the letter of acceptance from the post-secondary institution you will be attending.  Deadline is March 1, 2018.
  11. United Steelworkers Scholarship Program- Value of $4,000 ($1,000 per year for four years) to a high school senior. Applicant must be in good standing, or the son or daughter or legal ward of a member of a United Steelworkers, District 10 (Eastern) local union participating in the Scholarship Program; or son or daughter or legal ward of a disabled or old age retiree or deceased member of an affiliated local union who was in good standing with the United Steelworkers at the time of retirement or death.  Applications may be obtained, upon request, from participating local unions.  Deadline: March 15, 2018.
  12. American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors National President’s Scholarship- Fifteen scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each will be awarded for 2018. Three scholarships will be awarded in each of the five divisions of the American Legion Auxiliary.  For a list of rules and application packet see Mrs. Carr in Guidance.  Deadline is March 1, 2018.
  13. American Legion Auxiliary Spirit of Youth Scholarship for Junior Members 2018 – Five scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each will be awarded for 2018. One scholarship will be awarded in each division of the American Legion Auxiliary.  Candidates for this award shall be/shall have been Junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary, held membership in the American Legion Auxiliary for the past three consecutive years (2015,2016 and 2017) and must be a paid member for the current (2018) membership year. Applicant must continue her membership in the American Legion Auxiliary during the scholarship period.  Applicant must be in her senior year of high school, must be of good character and have grades which meet entrance requirements at the institution of their choice.  Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA using a 4.0 base.  For the application packet see Mrs. Carr in Guidance.  Deadline is March 1, 2018.
